2010 Hornet Relays Result

Hornet Relays-Two meet records set
March 27, 2010-Even the cold weather couldn't stop the action this weekend at Icahn Stadium as the Hornet Relays took to the track.  Highlights of the day included two meet records.  The first coming from Fordham Prep's Michael Lester in the javelin posting a solid early season mark at 174'10 to take home the gold medal in that event.  One aditional respectable early season mark came from Sean Collins of Archbishop Molley running 56.24 in the 400 hurdles.  The second record of the day came when the 4 X 800m relays quartet from Warwick Valley ran 8:01.74 cruising to an easy victory running 20 seconds faster then second place Brooklyn Tech. 
In other relay action Sheepshead Bay sweep the first event on the track winning both the boys and girls shuttle Hurdle races.  The boys race was won with a time of 1:07.32 and the girls with 1:09.75.  Sheepshead's boys also took home first place in the in 4 X 200m relays running 1:29.89.  The meet host Midwood high school also were able to take home a set of gold medals in the girls 4 X 100m relay running 51.09.

March 29, 2009-Icahn Stadium welcomed the 2009 Hornet Relays this past Saturday. During the early season meet by eleven different teams were able to claim meet records including one by the host school, Midwood High School in the girls Triple Jump Relays with a combine performance of 70 feet 5.5 inches.  The first Meet record of the day came during the shuttle hurdle relay with New Rochelle taking the girls team title with a time 1:08.68 and the boys team of Kellenberg defeating the reining indoor shuttle hurdle national champions Fordham Prep by almost a full second taking the win and the meet record with a time of Individual meet records were broken in both the Peter Aquilone Memorial Steeplechase race with Mary Kate Anselmini of Ward Melville covering the 2,000m race with a time of 7:11.26.  Following the girls race Kyle Shepard of Iona Prep then ran the 3,000m SC in 9:51.01 winning the race by a 17 seconds over the 2nd place finisher.  Archbishop Molloy javelin duo of Steven Lewis and Adaza Simonelli set records in both the girls and boys events.  Other meet records broken included; DeWitt Clinton in the Frosh Girls SMR - 4:14.81, Middletown in the Soph Boys SMR - 3:42.04 and the Boys Triple Jump 85'9.75", Grady in the Boys SMR - 3:34.15, Transit Tech in the Boys Shot Put Relay - 96'3.5", Iona Prep in the Boys Pole Vault Relay 25'0", and Ursuline in the Girls Pole Vault Relay 18'6". 1:04.40.

March 29, 2008 -  March 29, 2008 - Action was hot, despite the cold weather as the Hornet Relays took to the track today at Icahn Stadium.  Newburgh leads the way on the boys side, while the girls were led by Boys and Girls, as each team won multiple events.  For their efforts, both teams were named Hornet Relays - "Relay Team of the Meet".  Official Results.
