ON-LINE ENTRIES WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL APRIL 9TH

High School Coaches please make sure you complete all 3 portions of the New York Relays entries.  1) Enter your team roster on-line at www.directathletics.com 2) If you wish to enter athletes in the invitational events you must also enter them into the invitational section on www.directathletics.com 3) Send a hard copy to Lou Vazquez.  All three must be completed for your entry to be accepted.

MSG Varsity to broadcast the 2010 New York Relays
NEW YORK, N.Y. (April 2) – MSG Varsity has confirmed today that they will be providing coverage of the 2010 New York Relays.  This is your chance to show the tri-state area who the fastest and strongest in the area.  Broadcast dates will be announced soon.
Nike signs on as officials sponsor of the New York Relays
Watch out for the Nike Spike Bus at Icahn Stadium bringing you the latest technology in running with interactive stations and the Nike ID Studio.

COMMISSIONER BENEPE WAS ON HAND TO WELCOME THE 4000+ ATHLETES AND FANS TO ICAHN STADIUM FOR THE 5TH ANNUAL NEW YORK RELAYS

Jermaine Brown of Medger Evers (pictured right) breaks the meet and stadium record running a wind-aided 21.29.







Donna-Lee Hylton of Hempstead (pictured left) smashed the 400m stadium record running 54.56. 

Terran Livingston of Great Neck South keeps the 400m action moving also breaking the meet record runnng 48.07 (pictured right)







Iona Prep's Sean Halpin runs 1:56.20 taking the 800 by a slim margin over Frank Fezza of Sachem North (pictured left)

Henrietta Miers of Bronxville wins in impressive style in the 800m with a rime of 2:13.40 (pictures right)









Fordham Prep was able to put together a strong 4 X 400m Relay team to take the title clocking 3:19.15 (pictures left)

Aaron Kanigsberg of the Hackley School won a very exciting javelin compeition by edging Stephen Simalchik of Danbury by 4 feet to take the win with a stadium record throw of 198-10 (pictured right)


Katie Sullivan of Ursuline ran 7:16.64 in the 2000m Steeplechase to earn a spot on the podium (pictured left)






Kyle Shepard of Iona Prep seen taking control over the first water barrier maintained the lead to take the 3000SC with a time of 9:36.73 (pictured right)


Longwood girls hurdlers took the title running 1:10.94 in the 4 X 100m shuttle hurdle.  (pictured left)









Another stadium record was set in the boys shuttle hurdles with Sheepshead Bay running 59.12 (pictures left)

The 2009
New York Relays

to serve as first opportunity to qualify for the Reebok Grand Prix

The New York Relays taking place on April 17th and 18th will be the first opportunity for scholastic teams to qualify for the IAAF Reebok Grand Prix and run along side of World Class athletes.  This year the RGP will feature events for scholastic teams in the following events; Boys 4 X 400,
   4 X 800, Invitational 100m, Invitational 800m, Girls 4 X 100,   4 X 400, and the Invitational 800m.  For more information contact Paul Moser by e-mailing Moser@GlobalAthletics.com additional information CLICK HERE.
